Come one, come all! To that same old street corner on the last Monday in July, for the 56th Annual World Championship Dainty Contest!
This is the weekend that Schnitzelburgers look forward to all year long, and this year we’ve got more to celebrate than ever before...

Join us on the Saturday before Dainty Day for our 6th Annual Dainty Pre-Games.
Its the ultimate block-party, carnival, and FUNdraiser for the Dainty!

The Dainty Parade
Location: Monnik Beer Co
Join us for a Dainty Parade through Schntzelburg!
We'll meet up outside Monnik Beer Co starting at 3:00PM and listen to some music from Hot Sauce Brass Band. At 4:00 they will lead the procession through Schnitzelburg along with our Grand Marshall, Jeff Bent (the limber lizard!), your 2025 Dainty World Champion.
We'll end up at the MerryWeather just before 5:00 for the official opening of Dainty Fest 2026!
Join us to march through the streets, or stay tuned for the parade route and come out and cheer.

A Very Schnitzelburg Summer Block Party
The 6th Annual Dainty Pre-Games will begin at 5:00 PM on Hickory St. and see the street transformed into the Dainty Festival grounds.
This event offers fun for everyone, featuring:

Now for the main event!
Since 1971, folks from all across Louisville -and beyond!- have gathered at the corner of George Hauck Way to compete in the slowest five hours in sports and be part of the Schnitzelburg tradition started by George 56 years ago: The Dainty!
The Rules:
45 years or older to play
One hand only on the Dainty bat
Three strikes & you're out! – a strike is whenever wood touches wood
Farthest Dainty distance is the champion (Current World Record: 173 ft)
Shortest Dainty distance gets a basket of lemons
Bologna sandwich with mustard on white bread, a bag of plain chips, and a whole pickle is the official meal
(in person signups only, capped at 250 players)
Play begins just after 5:00
Game runs till we run out of bologna or players
