When George Hauck passed away on September 1, 2020, at the remarkable age of 100, although he was no longer standing at the corner of Goss and Hoertz to oversee, his legacy remains very much alive in the streets of Schnitzelburg.

Today, that legacy is carried forward by the

Dainty Preservation Society,

a volunteer organization dedicated to protecting the contest, its history, and the neighborhood spirit that has always surrounded it.
